Low-Tox Fragrance Swaps Hero

Let’s be real. Sometimes your house smells like dinner, wet shoes, and whatever the dog dragged in. That’s normal. What’s not normal is covering it with a cloud of fake fragrance and calling it “clean.”

1. The Beeswax Swap

Skip the cheap paraffin candles that cozy vibe isn’t worth the junk in your air.

The swap: Pure beeswax(or tallow) candles.
They burn cleaner, smell light, and don’t punch you in the face with fake “vanilla cookie” perfume. If you want scented, stick with beeswax(or tallow) candles made with essential oils and cotton or wood wicks.

2. Stovetop Potpourri (The Simmer Pot)

Stovetop Simmer Pot

If your kitchen still smells like taco night, do this instead of plugging in more chemicals.

The swap: A simmer pot.
Add sliced orange or lemon, rosemary, a cinnamon stick/clove(or a sprinkle of ground cinnamon/clove) a splash of vanilla, and water to a pot. Simmer low. That’s it. It smells good, costs almost nothing, and uses stuff you probably already have.

3. Fresh Air

Open a window when you can. That sounds too simple, but stale air needs to go somewhere.

Keeping it Simple

You do not have to throw everything out today. Just start with one swap. Replace the candle or a simmer pot.
