You don’t need to move into a yurt to have a low-tox home. You just need a few quick swaps that actually work.

Laundry is the mountain that never ends. Between the kids' 100 towels(we use fllour sack towels instead of paper towels where we can) and the mystery stains on my favorite sweatshirt, the machine stays humming. But if your laundry room smells like a "Spring Meadow" explosion, you’re likely breathing in a bunch of synthetic fragrance.

1. Ditch the Dryer Sheets

Dryer sheets are coated in surfactants and synthetic scents that sit on your clothes (and then your skin).
The Swap: Wool dryer balls. They bounce around, create air pockets, and cut drying time by 30%. No chemicals, just physics.
**I may or may not have about 10 since the seem to take mini vacations all over the house.

2. The Vinegar Rinse

Fabric softener is basically liquid plastic that clogs your machine and ruins towel absorbency.
The Swap: White vinegar. Put it in the softener compartment. It breaks down detergent buildup and kills odors. No, your clothes won’t smell like a pickle.

3. Simplify Your Suds

Most big-brand detergents are overkill. Look for options with five ingredients or fewer. If you can’t pronounce it, your skin probably doesn't want to wear it all day.

We’re all about that small-batch life here. Whether it's the ingredients in your tallow skincare or what goes into your washer, keeping it real is the only way to manage the chaos.

Keep it simple. Keep it real. Happy Tuesday.
